How non-conventional machining affects the surface integrity and magnetic properties of non-oriented electrical steel

چکیده
Non-oriented electrical steel (NOES) laminations are commonly used to manufacture the rotor and stator core of electric machines. To achieve high machine efficiencies, it is desirable for these NOES be able a saturation magnetisation whilst incurring minimal losses. It known that inappropriate machining could cause significant deterioration in their magnetic properties. However, mechanisms by which influences this less understood. This study investigates after four nonconventional methods: Abrasive Waterjet, Wire Electric Discharge Machining, Pulsed Laser, Continuous Wave Laser. An in-depth investigation surface integrity through range methods, i.e., topography, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), nanoindentation, backscatter diffraction (EBSD), domain imaging, were conducted causing deterioration. The using conventional methods (e.g., microstructure texture), was found not relevance unless combined with analysis on how affects micro-magnetic structure. paper, first time, highlights aspect attempts make initial quantitative evaluations domains affected superficial layer result non-conventional machining.

15 صفحه اولnon-linear study of various slit shear walls in steel structures
seismic retrofit strategies have been developed in the past few decades following the introduction of new seismic provisions and the availability of advanced materials and methods. it can be observed that new approaches to deal with more lateral forces are more innovative and more energy absorbent. in line with this, there is a growing trend toward the use of steel shear walls as a system with ...
15 صفحه اولSurface integrity predictions and optimisation of machining conditions in the turning of AISI H13 tool steel
Surface integrity (SI) plays a very important role in functional performance. It is dependent on a large number of machining parameters. The major concern of industry is to know which combination of machining parameters provides the best SI of machined components. Traditionally, surface roughness is considered to be the principal parameter to assess the SI of a machined part. However, residual ...
